CHEESE!

I miss cheese!!!

So, Ella has problems with dairy just like Emily did. I hope Ella grows out of it! Of course, the more kids with the allergy, the more likely I am to cook dairy free.

I am having the HARDEST time with this no dairy thing, though. AND Ella doesn't like chocolate! Not even a few chocolate chips in a cookie, she totally barfs! I definately don't like getting barfed on, but this is so so so hard to stay away from all the yummy things I like to eat! There is nothing to snack on! That's what I get for praying that I'd lose the wieght quickly after this one.

BTW... I am already wearing my pre-thispregnancy jeans!! YAY ME!! Let's hope soon it's the ones I wore before Emily... and then the ones before John...?? Ya, right, I threw those out a long time ago! Baby Steps...

So now that Ella is officially not yellow, she's developed a blocked tear-duct, and baby acne... She's still so cute, though... even though she looks like popeye half the time. :)

I can't decide who she looks like yet, but she's definitely cute!

She is adorable! So how do they know if they are allergic to dairy at this young age? I wonder sometimes if Daniel is. I like your new blog look, where do you get your stuff from?

Here comes a LONG comment...
They can do a blood test for allergies on babies. It's not the most accurate test, though. Or you can see a pediatric allergist, once your son is one year, they should be willing to do the pinprick test on his back. Are you in lancaster/palmdale? I can recommend a great one...
We haven't done any of that on Ella, though...
Emily had problems at birth and they wouldn't let me nurse her, she was spitting up more than half of her formula every time she ate (they actually measured... weighing the burp rag before and after). So they tried dairy-free formula and it solved the problem. She also broke out in a rash every time milk touched her skin... her allergy is really bad. We got her a blood test when she was only a few weeks old.
So, when we first brought Ella home and she started throwing up TONS of what she ate, at least half... (I hadn't eaten dairy in the hospital, I didn't want them to take her away and start giving her formula to find out what was wrong when I could figure it out on my own...) The first thing I tried was to stop eating dairy, because her symptoms were exactly like Emily's, and it worked. Now I'm just really observant of what I eat so if she pukes I can guess what the problem is and test it.
It's definately not an exact science with the little ones. Since our kids all have allergy problems, we (and by that I mean me and the baby!) just suffer through the first year and then go see Dr. Spector once they're a year.
As for my blog look, I make them myself. I download digital scrapbook stuff (some purchased, some free) and use photoshop to make the backgrounds. Then I edit the html to my blog. It's really easy and fun! I'll make them for other people, too...

Your baby is so cute! I didn't know you have four kids! Man, you've been busy! Congrats on the birth of your newest. She's a doll! My little one had issues with dairy too. NO FUN! I stayed away from it for almost her entire first year. She had GERD, too, which didn't help anything. Anyway, good luck staying away from dairy!
